(CHICAGO, IL; April 20, 2015) – Rain or shine, you can bet on Chicago’s premier Kentucky Derby Party at I|O, located on the fourth floor of The Godfrey Hotel Chicago (127 W. Huron St. at LaSalle). Held in partnership with Woodford Reserve and The Goorin Bros. Hat Company, the Kentucky Derby Party offers a day filled with contests, chef-inspired cocktails, and a special Derby Day menu on Saturday, May 2 from 12:00–8:00 p.m. Guests are invited to sign up on the day of the event and reserve their seat for an exclusive Bourbon 101 tasting class, taking place at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. As a special treat, the first 100 guests to arrive at the event receive a commemorative Woodford Reserve copper cup.

Donned in traditional Derby attire, attendees are invited to watch the Kentucky Derby from Chicago’s urban roofscape, featuring a retractable roof with sweeping views of Chicago’s south-facing skyline. Diners can choose dishes from a special Derby Day menu and carving station, as well as springtime cocktails to appease Derby lovers during the greatest two minutes in sports history.

Derby Day isn’t complete without the token animated attire and fashion staple hats. Cue the Goorin Bros. Hat Company, located onsite with hats available for purchase to give outfits the necessary Derby look. Guests also have the opportunity to win prizes for the “Best Dressed,” “Best Couple,” and “Best Hat” at the party.

I|O’s annual Kentucky Derby Viewing Event was recently named 2015 Promo, Party or Event of the Year, by the Nightclub & Bar Awards following last year’s celebration.
